Pilates changes the way in which we use our bodies. With systematic practice of specific exercises and focused breathing, it changes muscle recruitment patterns, correcting common muscle imbalances, restoring good alignment and natural body movement.

Pilates exercises developed a strong “core” or center of the body. The core consists of the deep abdominal muscles along with the muscles closest to the spine. Pilates exercises develop core control, integrating the trunk, pelvis and shoulder girdle.

At Chi Balance Center, we train several muscle groups at once in smooth, continuous movements. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and most are low impact and partially weight bearing.

Discover a new form of efficient and low-impact workouts where you train several muscle groups at once in smooth and continuous movements. Your muscles work in groups. Therefore it’s important to train them accordingly. You’ll strengthen your smaller muscles, which support the larger muscles, and often times training these smaller muscles are overlooked. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, avoiding extra pressure on sensitive joints and muscles.
